INFORMATION ABOUT VISAS TO THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA.

Citizens of Poland and other European Union countries (except for citizens of Germany, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands for up to 15 days in the period from December 1, 2023 to November 30, 2024) are obliged to obtain a visa to China before departure, at the PRC consulate. The visa is valid throughout China except for Hong Kong and Macau (entry up to 90 days without a visa).

Without a Chinese visa, you can stay for up to 144 hours in the transit zone at all international airports in China – this applies to all nationalities, the list of airports is available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Visas to China – submitting visa applications

Currently, a visa application can only be submitted at the China Visa Center at the PRC Consulate. The Chinese Visa Center in Warsaw is open from Monday to Friday from: 09.00-15.00. The waiting time for a visa to China is 4 business days in the normal service (Mon – Thu, Tue – Fri, Wed – Mon, Thu-Tues, Fri-Wed), and in the express service 3 business days.

Types of visas to China

L VISA – tourist visa (tourism, sightseeing). Stay up to 30 days, visa validity period: single 3 months from the date of issue, double 6 months from the date of issue. Entry must take place no later than the last day of validity of the visa. You can stay in the country for the period of stay specified in the Chinese tourist visa.

M VISA – business and trade visa. visa validity period: single – 3 months from the date of issue, double – 6 months from the date of issue, multiple – 6 months or one year from the date of issue. Entry must take place no later than the last day of validity of the visa. You can stay in the country for the period of stay specified in the business visa to China.

F VISA – visit to exchange experiences

Q VISA – a visa issued for family purposes to family members of Chinese citizens or family members of foreigners staying in China on the basis of a permanent residence card. The visa can be issued as short-term (Q2) or long-term (Q1). in this case, family members are considered to be: spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandchildren and parents-in-law.

S VISA – visa for family members of foreigners working or studying in China. It can be issued as short-term (S2) or long-term (S1). In this case, family members are considered to be: spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandchildren and parents-in-law. a visa may also be granted for other private purposes.

R VISA – promoting talent

Z VISA – taking up work in China

VISA X – undertaking studies and conducting scientific research for a period of 6 months or longer

D VISA – visa for permanent residence in the PRC

G VISA – transit visa

C VISA – air crew members, seafarers and accompanying family members

J-1 VISA – journalist visa (for permanent residents)

J-2 VISA – journalist visa (short-term)
